Brown Dyke Stables is a wonderful new luxury self-catering holiday cottage created from former stables dating back to the 18th century and located in the Scottish Borders, just a few miles north east of the historic border city of Carlisle in Cumbria.

Lovingly restored by Don and Jean Musgrave over a couple of years, there are now three bedrooms, all en-suite, with two spacious living areas upstairs with wood burning stove and flat screen TV with Freeview. Downstairs are 2 further bedrooms, lovely modern kitchen/dining room with all mod cons.

The former stables are located on a large courtyard and are unusual for having lots of windows which make this a very light and airy place to stay. Lots of space - lots of light!

The views across open fields and rolling countryside with the North Pennines in the distance are lovely. The sounds of cattle and sheep in the fields, as well as numerous birds make Brown Dyke a very relaxing place for a stay away from it all. Yet we are only a short drive from Carlisle, the Lake District National Park, Hadrian's Wall and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). We're even ideal for a special shopping trip to Newcastle across the A69.

Brown Dyke has a number of Highland Cattle, Belted Galloways, several horses and lots of sheep and hens.

Whatever you a looking for in a holiday cottage, Brown Dykes Stables offer home from home comfort in a peaceful, relaxing environment.
A warm Cumbrian welcome awaits you!
